This perception of the pharmaceutical industry is now changing. The prescription and supply of medication is now fraught with dispute over the influence that the large pharmaceutical companies bring to bear.

As such, there is a gradual resurgence of compounding pharmacology and alternate medicines, whereby patients are able to exert some control over the drugs they are taking.
